Service Description Division : Exploration & Production REF : E/P Direction: Security Division – JV District Security (OFFSHORE) SERVICE : RADIO / RADAR OPERATOR – JV (OFFSHORE) Situation in organisation Position to report: JV Security Operations Manager SERVICE PURPOSE This service is created to effectively manage the operation and maintenance of radar/radio of the FPSO in FSO Unity / Odudu. SERVICE DIMENSIONS · Operates and maintains radar/radio of the FPSO · Coordinate Helicopter Landing operations in the PFSO · Monitor the maritime situation in and around the FPSO and to check vessels movement within ODUDU Field and other JV Fields (Ofon & Amenam) · Act as a first point of contact for vessels entering the field · Maintain, operate, and record GMDSS equipment and interprets distress messages on GMDSS Activities · Operates and maintains radar/radio of the FPSO - Radar contacts reporting and events logging - Maintain record of charts and marine publications of associated JV sites. - Monitor the maritime situation in and around the Unity and to check appropriately all vessels heading towards the FSO Unity / Odudu field - Early detection, discrimination and classification of all radar contacts - Monitor and conduct radio watch - Record all maritime movements and events around the Odudu in a logbook - Generate a daily report of vessel’s disposition within FSO Unity / Odudu - Report on a daily basis, the movement of vessels in the field along with their data - Maintain a daily summary of diversions from MIZ / MEZ and drills · Coordinate Helicopter Landing operations in the FPSO - Act as first point of contact for Helicopter and keeping Helicopter flight watch entering and leaving the field - Interpretation of weather around the vicinity to ensure marine and helicopter operations safety - Carries out helicopter bookings for intended passengers to and from FSO UNITY - Interface with the HLO on information regarding inbound Helicopters and their ETA - Monitor Helideck weather station and give weather report to Helicopters and shore-based Helicopter station · Monitor the maritime situation in and around JV Fields (Amenam, Unity & Ofon) and to check vessels movement within JV Fields - Monitor crew boat approaching the boat landings on camera and advise accordingly - Operate the FPSO public address system (PAGA) - Lock assigned doors during lockdown · Maintain, operate, and record GMDSS equipment and interpret distress messages on GMDSS: - Maintain GMDSS and Radio log - Monitor and operates the GMDSS station and other distress Context and environment · High traffic offshore location · Risky and volatile environment with high levels of criminality and unpredictable socio-economic situations. · Threats of possible piracy and employee unions protest · Regular helicopter landing operations with dynamic weather conditions · Moderately large number of Security vessels with GSF Personnel working and reporting day and by night · Working on rotational basis (both afternoon and night shift) on 28 x 28 ACCOUNTABILITIES · Monitoring and ensuring zero intrusion · Timely identification and communication with every vessel interfacing with the FPSO · Adherence to Compay Security CMS and VPSHR Provisions · Reporting and close out of HSE/Security anomalies and incidents; follow up and tracking all drills and investigation within the facility · Right Safety culture among personnel all personnel onboard · Monitor vessel movements. Qualifications / experience required · University Degree / Polytechnic Certificate (BA/BSc/ BTech/HND/OND) · 10+ years minimum work experience in a similar role and environment. Records of Service with Nigerian Navy or Marine Police is an added advantage. · PFSO Certification · GMDSS Certification · Radio Telephony Training · ARPA / Radar Certification · Meteorological Observers Training · BOSIET · Proficiency in Microsoft office and security reporting tools
