Corporate Collections Agent

Summary: The Agent will be responsible for ensuring the timely recovery of outstanding amounts from the corporate client portfolio through proactive, analytical and strategic management, whilst maintaining business relationships and minimising credit risk. The corporate collections agent does not merely act as a debt collector; they are a manager capable of anticipating risks of default, developing tailored collection strategies for different client profiles, generating insights to support credit and business decisions, driving process improvements by analysing recurring causes of late payment, and balancing financial recovery with the preservation of long-term commercial relationships. Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of corporate clients with a focus on recovering outstanding amounts, and contact clients via various channels to negotiate and settle payments. Monitor the collections portfolio on a daily basis, identifying accounts at risk and setting priorities for action. Follow up on payment commitments, ensuring they are honoured and taking corrective action where necessary. Contribute to reducing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), improving cash collection and reducing overdue debt. Ensure compliance with credit policies, internal procedures and regulatory requirements, whilst maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach throughout the collection process. Monitor all changes in the portfolio, assist in balancing the debt and maintain control over payments in accordance with the collection policy. Qualifications: Knowledge of accounting, finance or similar fields. Practical knowledge of MS Office, with a focus on Excel. 1–2 years’ experience in debt collection is desirable, preferably in the corporate sector or a similar role. Advanced negotiation and influence techniques. Assertive communication and analytical thinking. Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with a focus on results. A proactive approach, able to prioritise, multitask, balance deliverables against expectations, and work both independently and as part of a team.
