Junior Sustainability Consultant

As a Junior Consultant Sustainability, Risk & Controls , you will support leading organizations in navigating this transition. You will work on a unique combination of ESG reporting & assurance , internal controls , and internal audit engagements, helping clients strengthen their governance frameworks while meeting evolving sustainability requirements. From day one, you'll collaborate with experienced consultants, managers and international teams on impactful projects across a wide range of industries. Your impact As part of our Sustainability, Risk & Controls team, you will: Advise and support clients Contribute to sustainability reporting and assurance engagements. Support clients in strengthening internal control frameworks and governance processes. Participate in internal audit assignments and risk assessments. Help organizations embed ESG considerations into their business, reporting and decision-making processes. Deliver high-quality projects Conduct analyses, testing and fieldwork for sustainability and internal control engagements. Review and interpret quantitative and qualitative data. Develop structured working papers, reports and client deliverables. Perform research on emerging ESG regulations, reporting standards and risk management practices. Ensure all work meets our quality and professional standards. Collaborate and grow Work closely with colleagues, clients and stakeholders across different countries. Contribute to client presentations, proposals and business development initiatives. Build trusted relationships with client teams and represent our firm professionally. Gain exposure to international projects and occasional travel opportunities. What we're looking for Education You hold a Master's degree in: Business Engineering Economics Engineering Environmental Sciences Sustainability Management Or a related discipline Experience 0-2 years of experience in sustainability reporting, ESG consulting, assurance, internal audit, risk management or internal controls. Relevant internships are considered a strong asset. Technical knowledge You have an interest in or basic knowledge of: Sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI, ISSB and ESRS. Sustainability regulations including CSRD and EU Taxonomy. Internal control and risk management frameworks such as COSO. Audit, assurance or internal audit methodologies. Skills that make you successful Analytical and critical thinking mindset. Curious, eager to learn and detail-oriented. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to translate complex information into clear conclusions. Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Team player with an international mindset. Languages Fluent in Dutch and English. French is a strong asset. Digital skills Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with data analytics or reporting tools is a plus.
