Area Leader - Oil Treatment Unit

Location     Buliisa, Uganda Start Date (Estimated) : Q1 2026 Duration    18 months+ Status    ROTATIONAL Job Category    COMMISSIONING/START UP Qualifications/Experience required Engineering degree or equivalent in related discipline with experience in pre-commissioning within Oil & Gas Minimum 15 years’ experience in oil and gas projects, with extensive multi-discipline pre-commissioning and Oil Gas construction experience Good knowledge of major Contractors in oil and gas construction projects. The ideal candidate shall be fully conversant with the applicable Oil and Gas Industry International Codes, Standards as well as best Industry Practices. A good awareness of other disciplines. Significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams or projects. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Fluent in English. Valid medical certificate per company standards. Main Missions Planning and Coordination: Develop and update short-term plans and look-ahead plans for the Oil Treatment Unit (OTU), work in line with the overall project schedule. Coordinate daily and weekly work fronts with site supervisors, discipline leads, and subcontractors to optimize resource allocation and the sequencing of activities. Work Monitoring : Track and monitor the daily progress of OTU activities (installation, alignment, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation connections). Monitor the status of critical equipment, long-lead items, and materials required for OTU. Ensure the tracking of engineering deliverables, shop drawings, and technical submissions. Technical Support and Interfaces : Assist site teams in resolving technical queries and clarifying construction details. Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and commissioning teams to ensure a smooth workflow and timely handovers. Pre-commissioning and Readiness: Monitor pre-commissioning activities, punch list completion, and preparation for OTU commissioning. Verify the conformity of auxiliary systems (fuel gas, air intake, lubrication, controls) before handover.
