Job Details Job Title: Lifting/Rigging Specialist Department: Engineering Reporting To: Sunrise Construction Manager II Job Purpose Responsible for the supervision of day to day lifting and rigging activities at site. Review and endorse contractor’s lifting plan, Risk assessment. Ensure compliance and implementation of COMPANY lifting procedure at site. Carry out periodic inspection of all lifting equipment, lifting tools and tackles. Conduct periodic audits of contractors lifting equipment and personal certifications. In this capacity, the incumbent work alongside a limited number of COMPANY discipline construction supervisors to ensure adherence to project scope. III Dimensions Number of Direct Staff: 0 Number of Indirect Staff (if applicable): 0. Number of Direct or Indirect Contractors (if applicable): 0 IV Key Result Areas (Key Accountabilities) 1. Contribute to COMPANY Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance by ensuring applicable HSE standards are known, understood and followed within the workplace. Ensure contractor’s awareness and performance are maintained at a high level. 2. Review and endorse contractors lifting plan and risk assessment. Assist as required to ensure contractor lift plans are suitable. 3. Coordinate and supervise lifting activities in accordance with the lifting plan, ensure that only certified and licensed crane operators are operating the crane or any other lifting equipment at site. 4. Check and ensure ground conditions are suitable for safe lifting operations. 5. Monitor day-to-day lifting and Rigging activities of the Construction Contractor. 6. Conduct periodic inspection of lifting equipment, lifting tools and tackles being used at site. Ensure the mandatory daily checks of all lifting equipment is done by the respective crew and log maintained. Monitor compliance and implementation of color coding of lifting equipment and tools at site. 7. Conduct or monitor all toolbox talks prior to any lifting operation at site. 8. Support Project Team to conduct necessary transportation and heavy lift studies before any critical equipment Transportation and installation at site. 9. Initiate and implement necessary control measures to avoid incidents related to simultaneous lifting operation involving multiple equipment at one location. 10. Work with Construction Contractor and coordinate with COMPANY other discipline Supervisors before performing any critical lifting operation at site to avoid last minute surprises. External Contacts: Construction Contractors and lifting vendors and subcontractors. VI Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Job Related Competencies Educational Qualifications:  A degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering.  Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) Certification. Experience Profile:  10+ years onshore oil and gas construction industry experience.  5+ years’ experience in power plant, gas plant and pipeline construction.  Experience with cranes, lifting tools and tackles. Information Security:  Employees shall read, understand, and comply with DPE’s Information Security Policies, Standards, and Procedures.  Employees shall promptly report any suspected or actual information security incidents to their respective line manager or the IT Department.  Employees shall protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of COMPANY information assets. Competencies/Skills/Others:  Ability to prepare lifting plans and conduct risk assessments for lifting and associated works.  Ability to supervise, monitor all lifting operations independently, and implement safe lifting practices at site.  Engage with all stakeholders in a positive and collaborative manner.  Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings related to equipment installation.  Conversant with lifting standards followed in the industry.  Ability to interact with multi discipline and multi culture Construction crew.  Strong safety and environmental ethic.  Must have the temperament to work effectively with multi-national team.  Well organised and methodical.  Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.  A valid United Arab Emirates driving license or the ability to obtain one.
